MEMBER JOURNEY (Research & Development)
This exploration project was probably one of my favorites to work with in our Research & Development team because it was unique to track medical activity through a visually designed timeline.
We took a social media design pattern approach for this project. I wanted to show in a snapshot, the key metrics of the patient history through time (E.g. Most active month of care, What imaging, labs, procedures were done? Do they need a follow-up?) This visual timeline gave a bird’s eye view of the patient’s health story, and allowed close up snapshots in detail.
I drafted the first mockup. Working with a developer, we did rapid prototyping and gathered responses from stakeholders for further ideation. I am a huge fan of draft mockups and rapid prototyping because of cost effectiveness and the versatility for continuous improvement. Our revisions brought the product to life.
Additional suggestions I had for further improvement was adding a telehealth component. Smart IOT devices can give additional data to the member's journey. IOT will help patients and their care team to have to most up-to-date information to set healthier holistic goals.
